| First of all I have to give mad props to Kuah and SPLParts. He supplied me with all the parts needed to get my car back up and running after finding out I had low compression in number 6 last year. It's nice to have such a great vendor locally. After getting the car put back together I too it to the dyno to tune the AFC. Here is a link to that post. [ http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=1518910 ] Based on feedback from Kuah and confirmed by Ash, it was determined I had a boost leak somewhere. I did the boost leak test and could not even presuurize the system but could hear a leak somewhere near the drivers side headlight. I had to remove the front facia so I could have better access to that area. It turns out that the small line from the air intake tube to the carbon canister was torn. Also, the passenger side intercooler was missing one of the bolts that attaches to the bracket which was a big leak in the intercooler. I fixed both leaks and went ahead and removed the carbon canistor while I was at it. We found several more small leaks and corrected all but one which we can not pinpoint. The last leak seams to be coming from the passenger side intake valve cover near the back of the engine. I'll just have to live with that for now as I don't want to pull the plenum again for awhile. Now that 99% of the leaks were resolved, I had to retune the AFC. Kuah came through again and offered to help tune using his Inovate LM1 wideband O2 sensor. Last Saturday I went to his show and then we hit the road for some tunning. He set me up to ~11.5:1 A/F ratio. This was all done with my boost controller turned off so boost was limited to .85 kg/cm2 (12psi). Yesterday before heading to the track to meet up with Kuah, Sean & Nicole, I stopped at the shop to get a couple dyno pulls done to reconfirm Kuah's settings and to see where I'm at now power wise. Here is the first pull with the boost controller turned off. This is at .85 kg/cm2.
Here is the second pull at 1.5 kg/cm2 (21psi).
A/F looks pretty good and correlates to what Kuah set me up for. These runs were done with 5 gallons of 109 unleaded. Whats weird is the torque number on the 12 psi run. Anyways, just more data points for the JWT Sport 500 turbos.
