Message	I loaded the software onto my NEW IBM Thinkpad, and have been unable to establish contact between the cpu and my Z's ECMs. As you know, the nProbe comes with a "Null modem" cable which links the nProbe unit itself with your PC/PDA. Well, the 'new' laptop has a female serial port, not the male style of yesteryear (which would have taken a direct connection with the nProbe). The ends of the Null model cable are both females, one to hook to the nProbe itslelf, and the other to interface with the PC/PDA. I went to the local computer store to purchase a cable to link the two (I thought I could buy one with female 9-pins on each side), and the rep said there is no such thing, plus some other babble about a serial port versus... ??? Anyway, I purchased a $40 cable which has the 9-pin male on one side with USB on the other. The rep warned me that the software may not function with this type of interconnect. Well, he was right.
