make a significant diffence in power. 2. Sometimes a slow 60' can adversely affect not only your ET but also your MPH (lets say you are bogging the car, or babying it out of the hole for fear of spinning the tires; by the time your car is really accelerating, you have "wasted" a good deal of strip where you would otherwise be accelerating and producing higher MPH). 3. Shifting the car at the correct (optimal) RPM can have a huge impace on ET and MPH. As a general rule, I'd suggest shifting a stock turbo car (with your mods) at 6,800 in first, 6,500 in second and 6,200 in third (these are approximations, but should be close). Over-reving the car results in a loss of momentum and a loss in ultimate terminal MPH. My standard advice is to look at any racing you are new at as a process and not an event, and allow yourself to have a learning curve. Every member that engages in some type of racing goes through it whether they like it or not, so be patient with the process and look to improve each time out. Good luck and have fun, Mark
