Yes it does mean you shouldn't post. If they guy hasn't screwed anyone over in the past and there's overwhelming evidence that he's gone out of his way to help anyone out who's done business with him, that's pretty convincing evidence to not post and work this out privately. After he writes you an email that says, "too bad sucker, no returns," then post all you want.
