Message So, a few of us went up to Hallett, OK to run with the Cimmaron Region PCA club. They put on a fantastic event every year, and this one was no exception. They threw us a curve (pun) this time around by having us run in the clockwise direction, which is opposite from everytime I’ve ever run there. We had fantastic weather Saturday, sunny in the mid 60’s. Sunday morning brought a little rain, which made things interesting. It cleared up through the day, but stayed cloudy the whole time.

Tu was up there for his second trip, and I think had an even bigger blast than his first last September. He was doing great, and by the weekend was over, was passing just about everyone in the green group. Way to go Tu!!!!

Aliaz was having some brake fluid issues for part of the time, but once we got him squared away, he got real fast. Those PE1420’s really have some kick. That combined with his Stoptech brakes really made his car quick as hell. His limiting factor was his set of street tires. Don has really made significant progress on his driving. By the end of the weekend, he was the fastest of the Z cars there.

Kuah was a machine. He was consistently one of the fastest cars in our run group. His car is just flat-out badass. Very “outside the box” thinking, and a lot of things you just don’t see in other Z’s. He has become a very good driver, and only started to slow down toward the very end of the weekend when some fatigue started setting in.

I pretty much sucked for a good deal of the weekend. It took me until the last 4 or so sessions of the weekend to get into any kind of a rhythm. I spun out in the rain Sunday morning, and finally hit a groove by late morning. I was able to run mid-pack with most of the group, except for a few race-prepped cars. There were also a couple of high power Turbo Porsches on R compounds that pretty much owned us all. Must be nice to have money. On the last session of the weekend, I was pushing really hard to keep up with the faster cars, and well … I found the limits of my street tires :)

Tu (Representing the NA’s)

Aliaz (More damn HP than he knows what to do with)

Kuah (Porsche Killer)

Guapo (Resident Asshole)

Got Brakes?

Some non-Z cars –

This thing weighed 1100 lbs and had a Hayabusa engine. Sweetness.

And finally, a snippet of in-car video of my final session of the weekend. I hate Yokohama ES100’s. They get all kinds of greasy. :)

And thanks to Guapo... I got my first ride in a Twinturbo... at speed... on a race track.
I'll just say 'Damn' and leave it at that.
