| Modding the driver is a MUCH better investment than any $1k go-fast part you can put on the car. You will become a better, faster, and safer driver as a result (not to mention have an awesome time!) For those who say they can't afford a track event, CANNOT AFFORD TO MOD THEIR CAR, imo. And keep in mind there ARE other, cheaper cars you can run at the track. Take a Miata for example: can run pump gas, and tires would be MUCH cheaper as they are quite a bit smaller. For your first year, you are OK learning on street tires. You don't need dedicated track wheels and tires quite yet (wait until you get a hit from the go-fast crack pipe first!). I don't bother changing the oil before every event, only if the car needs it. Maybe I'll change it a little early, whatever. These guys covered the estimated costs pretty good! Using street tires, not spending the night (i.e. find a local track/event you can drive to and from), and use pump gas, and you can save quite a bit. I can't speak on brake pads for your car. You might be able to use a street/track pad, but if these guys say racing pad, you should listen to them. DEFINATELY flush (not bleed) your brake fluid if you haven't done that lately. I second maglito's recommendation for Motul RBF600. and Have Fun!
