IMO, they are good looking, well engineered, powerful, easy to work on*, and glorified by the media. The amount of cars on the used car market is VERY low, indicating first or second owners of the cars do not sell, them being rare drives the price up. Even as mileage went up on the Supra, the ease of repair kept maintenance fairly low and opened up the DIYers involved. Our Z's were the starters of the sports car movement, hence the purists on this site, but the Z was overshadowed in the mid-90's because of the high price and the difficulty to work on it made maintenance more expensive. As mileage got higher, mainenance stayed expensive and more common for those who don't work on the cars themselves. The population of Z owners put there cars on the market after things start going wrong so now there are many ill-repaired Z's for sale because noone can afford to fix them, or they don't want to wait around til something goes wrong. With more high-mileage used Z's on the market the price is driven down. This is my take on it. Let the bitching ensue about how our cars are better (which may be true to us but not to an economically driven principal) even though that is not what this post is about. Good luck in your ventures Djlunc94, prepare yourself for many off topic complaints from these members...
