You have to weigh your options here. If this is going to be THAT serious it's worth the time and taking off work or whatever to go to court. Delay the hell out of it as best you can. Be NICE to court clerks and such and give good excuses if you can. The longer you push it the better chances you have. People always say the cop ALWAYS shows up...well I do believe most of the time they do, but I've been to court three times (two for me) and EACH time they called out 1/3rd of the names at the beginning and they all were let go because the cops didn't show. Even though that's just SoCal, the odds may be worth the effort if it's going to get ugly. If you don't go to "fight it" per se, at least GO and hope he doesn't show. If he does you can just say "Guilty" and pay it...at least out here you can. Then there's fighting it...rare to win without the cop incriminating him/herself or other proof, but it can be done in SOME situations. I had one where he didn't show and one I beat in court (proved she couldn't have followed me long enough to get an accurate speed...I got lucky). Good luck and seek the advice or the service of one of those attorneys that do this for a living. A little money can go a long way IF the points will be THAT bad. If not, don't worry.
