that higher compression actually lowers your ability to make boost (given the same turbos and lower compression engine). I have heard the opinion that the exhaust gasses get accelerated with higher compression and thus help spool the turbos....it's my understanding that the higher compression actually uses up more of the potential energy in the compression process and actually LOWERS the turbos' ability to make as much boost at a lower compression. So those turbos might make 9 psi on an 8.5 compression engine, but "only" 7-8 psi on a 10.5 compression engine. You might want to double check my info (it comes from a highly competent source....obviously not me), but that might account for slightly less boost on the higher compression engine.
