Hi, I'm looking to make ~500rwhp on 93 octane pump gas. I've got all the bolt-ons available, so supporting mods is not an issue. My last engine blew(dumba$$ owned the car before me, beat it up) but I put on all the bolt-ons so I would have an idea if my combo was working for me. I have a stock JDM motor comming next week, and I have limited myself to one of three upgrades. I want to know if anyone has any hard data concerning my options. I am limited to 10 mins. on this work computer, so I can't go into a detailed search. I'm trying to find out which mod will put me the closest to 500rwhp....I'm mainly concerned with peak HP this time. I dynoed the car with the current set-up and it made 426rwhp @ 1.25 bar (18psi).....the max psi I'm planning to use is about 20 (pending results from dyno testing when the car is back up and running). The clutch slipped on that pull, but the curve was headed for the 440-450rwhp range....so we'll just call 440rwhp as my starting point. The three mods I'm considering are; turbo upgrade(remember, 20 psi max), tubular exhaust manifold, or cams(270 degrees). The car is a semi-daily driver, but I basically use it to travel from state to state and do highway runs(hence the preference for top-end power). Thankx for any info provided.
