Message The assumption is that the new tires will give you better traction. So by putting them in the rear you reduce the chance of oversteering, which usually leads to bad things if you are on the street.
Personally I think on a FF you should put them on the front, the chance of oversteering in a FF is pretty small. This way you get better traction where you need it.
