:as soon as people see the 3 red Xs they start voting also... without thinking twice maybe its not supposed to be VTD and the person who started it is doing it out of personal feelings. 'the person who started'... if you click on VTD, an X does not appear from your 1 vote. 'the person' doesn't really exist. The vote is weighted X by X in a non linear fashion where to make that fist X appear takes way more people then the last X. By the time the first X appears, there's generally enough negativity below the post being voted on that people should be clicking VTD anyway. If you could see the details the way we do, it actually works just fine about 95% of the time it's invoked completely. Considering how infrequently it actually goes the distance it's pretty much spot on for what it is intended to do.
