My gears went in my spare differential with no problem. They assembled increadibly easily (by professionals) and slipped right in. The patterns were dead on spec as well.I picked up the diff this morning. All I need to do is find 90/140 fluid, install the SPL aluminum bushings and do the swap. re: shimming, oddly enough, the stock shims didn't provide the specified preload by nissan. However, the stock gear assy and the leadersgear assy slid in with no resistance, and NO play either. The LeaderGears are a perfect fit. However, we are running an experiment and preloading the ring with a 1mm S.S.shim to see how preloading (per the service manual) effects gear noise and face wear. By the pattern we ran tho, it should be perfect with or without the preload. My shop that installed the gears were incredibly impressed with how little work was required to install and setup the gears. They were also impressed with the thoroughness of the factory Nissan Service Manual. One last note, We compared the leader gears to beefy ford 8.8 inch ring and pinion set and were shocked to see that your gears look much stronger and beefier then fords ring and pinions. (especially that pinion of yours... sheeeesh).
