It has the advent of most of the best features (like brake air cooling guides, better brake system, etc.) but is the lighter than newer models (no airbag, non of the electronics for electronic Hicas, and no remote system) for the best performance (lbs:power ratio). However, like others have been saying the, 94-95 is the best all-around package if it is to be modded, with more convenience (dual airbags, the remote system, electric HICAS, the less annoying car mounted seat belt). If you are getting one to collect, get the 96', all the kinks were worked out best they could by the time, but it is the heaviest, slightly different in power delivery (not necessarily less powerful, but power curve isn't as broad) because of combo of smaller injectors from 95', no NVCS (very important) and I believe the turbos might be smaller (those from the early autos on the 5spd also, <-- this is rumor though.)
