Message I'm going to try to make this an informative (objective) post. I have a set of B&B downpipes that were installed on a car locally here for 6 months. I purchased them with the intention of installing them. Greg came up with his new super split design that seemed to perform better so I decided to buy them. I now have both sets sitting here. With some of the problems that have surfaced with the welds on Greg's downpipes, I decided to take some comparison pics with the welds between the two sets. So here you go...

First pic is of the two together...

Here are the outside "tack" welds that Greg was talking about (I believe...Greg, correct me if I'm wrong). As you can see with the B&B, you have a much stronger full weld on the outside (or so it seems...I don't claim to be a professional).

Here's another angle...basically not much "tack" welding here...

Here's the B&B pic from roughly the same angle (I apologize for the header wrap, but I'm not taking it off). As you can see, a nice full weld on the outside...

The other side of Greg's...again, no real welding on the outside...

Similar shot of the B&B's...nice full weld on the outside...

Inside of the B&B's on the exhaust side...

Similar shot of the inside exhaust side of Greg's pipes...VERY nice job on the inside welding...

Inside of Greg's split section...

Another shot...this one looks a little sloppy with the small pipe of the split section...a lot of separation

The inside of the B&B...this looks cleaner than Greg's (the actual split piping...but this design on the B&B is not the "super split" design...so that's why there might be a difference here...the smaller piping blends in very well in the B&B downpipes)

Inside of the B&B's on the split side...

Anyway, that's all I got for you. What does all this mean? I don't know. I thought I'd give you a comparison with all the stuff that's been going on with Greg's welds. I definitely LOVE the inside welds of Greg's pipes where the flanges are on both sides. And if this is the part where Greg was talking that they were grounding down too much before, that would cause a problem with his design since there's not much outside welding. There is very nice outside welding that you can see on the B&B's...good or bad? I don't know, but I wanted you guys to see it. The actual split piping seems to be a cleaner in B&B's split downpipes. There is quite a separation on the inside in that second picture of the split section on Greg's pipes.

In summary, I think they are both high quality pieces. The attention to detail of the B&B's seems extraordinary. Now the question...which to install...

Let me know your opinion...
