First off, I must say, the radiator quality is excellent, and normally I would call them to ask them these questions, but I am supposed to be leaving tomorrow for my cross country drive and needed some advice asap. What I am hoping for is for another member to tell me either, yes, same here, or, no, mine had xyz. Issue 1: I installed the radiator this evening, and while it says direct replacement, I assumed that meant I would also be able to use the stock retaining bracket with the hood prop clips, no such luck. Were they supposed to come with some, or do I need to buy these extra? If that's the case, it's really not direct drop in replacement and I wish it would have been noted on the website before I bought it. The big question is though, is it okay to drive it like this? Issue 2: Also after install it, I was able to put on the upper fan shroud, but the there was no bolt holes in the lower radiator to secure the lower fan shwroud... should I just drill some holes so I can secure the lower shroud so it's not flopping around? Issue 3: When I turned on the car with the upper fan shroud, the fan itself hit the shroud making a scrapping sound ever revolution of the fan. So I ended up taking it off for the time being. Issue 4: This isn't so much a problem just as an observation. After installing the new radiator, I took it for a spin and notice my temp gauge actually sits higher than before. It's right about midpoint whereas before it was always rock solid on about 1/4 of the way up from the bottom of the gauge. I am wondering if this could be because of the missing fan shroud? In case you're wondering why I replaced it, I wasn't super comfortable driving that car long distances with a half plastic half aluminum radiator. I really wanted something that I felt confident wouldn't fail under the high temps of the desert in the summer when I drive back. If anybody can address some of these problems, I would greatly appreciate it. Here is the link to the specific radiator.
