Message	Escort Passport 8500 x50 radar detector. Here's my question for you guys with the 8500, where did you mount it? It fits nicely behind the rear view mirror, but the problem is, I can't see the display anymore. I've never had a radar detector before, so I don't know if it's even really necessary to view the display, or do you guys just slow down when it starts to beep? Also, the power adapter is very obtrusive, I am thinking or trying to hardwire it to a switched power source, any thoughts on that? Please don't turn the thread into a "should of got a V1".
