| I've been busy the past 2 weekends, this weekend I took the car over to Paterson, NJ [ http://www.xtrememotorwerks.com ] to get the 10pt cage installed. (pics soon as its done!) And the weekend before I took a trip down to Bernie's to pick up a stock rear fascia, and a J-Spec fascia. In between I have been working on the install of my new fuel system, battery relocation, subframe swap, and prepping the car for the cage install. I have to give Bernie special thanks, as the rear bumper he gave me matches perfectly, and the front I can't wait to get painted and put on. My car's exterior will now be stock except for the 99 front (which could be considered stock?) This is the stock rear fascia from Bernie's parts car
This is the RCI Cell, which I had modified by a local welder. The cell originally had the mounting points on the bottom, but I wanted to drop the cell into the floor, so I had him weld a 1" flange all along the top. I also had him cut out the two -8AN sump fittings, and weld in a new piece along with one -12AN fitting that mates to my new fuel pump perfectly.
This is how the trunk floor looked after I cut out the spare tire area, and replaced it with a 1/8" sheet of aluminum. This was mainly not for weight savings, but rather to get the cell down in the floor, and conserve space for other things =).
This is after I cut out the hole for the cell, and dropped it into place.
View from the rear of the car, notice the subframe is out of the car. I also dropped in a TT subframe, hicas eliminator, and moved my rear upper arms over from the NA subframe to the TT subframe.
This is the transmission tunnel. I wish I had some before pics, because the underside of my car was a total mess. I spent 8 hours cleaning the underside from oil, and road grime. Most of the grime was from the thrown rod from a year or so ago.
Shot of the TT subframe installed, Ebay Hicas Eliminator, and the SPL rear arms. Gotta twist your head to see this one. Notice no more stock fuel tank ---
Took the front mount is off, getting the endtanks re-done for single inlet/single outlet. Car is completely stripped to damn near sheetmetal. Also u can see the ugly hood I got. I don't want to cut up my perfect stock hood, so this one will be the one to go under the knife. I also removed the battery tray with a dremel, and pulled off all the brackets for the power steering. The engine bay will be even more empty now.
And here is the new look of my trunk. Moroso battery box, Aeromotive fuel pump, controller, and filter. RCI 15 gallon fuel cell dropped into the custom floorpan I built.
