is that 9 times out of 10, the detector is going off for something which is totally unrelated to police radar -- the top annoyances being power lines and, of course, someone else's crappy unshielded radar detector. So although I use a radar detector on long drives, I usually end up having to ignore it. This is with a Uniden that tested at the top of at one biased radar test, so I can't imagine that the real top-of-the-line detectors are any better.
