the real reason would ONLY be to put on real wide wheels that stick out a lot from the rear fenders. I would guess the front fenders can acomodate any good wheel size for the front, so you just need a "fat" ass.
On the other hand, if done the right way, you can change a lot the looks of the Z into a more "agressive" looks with a wide body.
That is just my opinion.
