Message I have seen many cages done the way yours is, in my opinion it is a direct result of what has already been stated, they designed it with the door open. A good door bar should clear the door panel, unless you just want to remove your stock door panel and replace with sheet aluminum or carbon in your case. A decent solution would be to "notch" around the bars and then have it upholstered, which will look fine when the door is closed, but when the door is open it will look terrible IMO.
