| Okay, so I have been running without cruise control for about 1 year now...and in all honesty, I don't really miss it that much. But I figured the cruise control may be helpful to have for the 3000 mile road trip I will be making to Syracuse this August (he he), so I decided to re-install it... Here are some pics of how I "hid" my cruise control so that it would not be an obnoxious wart in my engine bay. Now this is not anything new, but I wasn't able to find any active pictures on just how this was done, so I figured I'd post my version... First of all, there is nothing much you can do with the plastic diapraghm as far as moving it completely out of the way (throttle cable length kind of limits you), so here is where I placed it

Here is a closer view of it.
In order to secure it here, I had to modify the stock bracket. Basically, I just cut the portion with the holes that normally mount to the shock tower section (if it were in the stock location.) I had to drill 2 small holes to secure it to the firewall, but it's in there pretty secure... You will need to get longer tubing to connect the diaphragm to the solenoid. One thing to Note: one of the tubes from the AIV system is long enough and just barely big enough to use for this tubing. So if you have a pre-1993 TT, you won't have to go out and buy new tubing assuming you remove the AIV system. Here is where I mounted the Solenoid (in the back section of the front fenderwall). I used one of the bolt holes from where the AIV system used to be and simply bent an l-shaped bracket that I got from the local hardware store. Not the prettiest, but it works.
Hope this helps somebody to get a better visual of how I did it... I'm sure there are many other variations out there, but just thought I would share NOTE - the wiring harness cover will either need to be cut back so you can access the wires to get the plug into the fenderwall, or you will have to cut, solder and lengthen the wires to get them in there.
