You're quite a piece of work.

G: Thanks; I don’t like to consider myself the average Joe.

You MAY recommend Stoid considering you had your engine built by Stoid and it runs great at this time:-)

If he asked me I would tell him my experience. My car is running and put 525 on the ground without any ill effects. I know others had trouble in the past and I would mention that too. I had one problem with Stoid which he fixed immediately. Not sure what else a vendor can do.

G: Your above statement was the reason I posted “good luck with that”. Your recommendation will be different from every other Z32 owner that had work done by Stoid. You have first hand knowledge of “A” successful build from Stoid therefore an unfamiliar Z owner may use them and end up in the “failed” category and broke.

If you don't recommend Stoid you will recommend SGP because they dyno'd you car and are a tt.net "sponsor", it makes sense right?

You wrote:

No it does NOT make sense. A) Don't come into my house and accuse me of pandering to my sponsors and basically stating that you think I am unethical. If SGP was a bad shop with lots of unhappy customers they would not be a sponsor period, and regardless of that I don't kiss anybody's ass.. sponsor or not.

G: I wasn’t intending to accuse you of being unethical. I apologize if it sounded that way. SGP is the only “known good shop” that is near Dallas and you drove your car there for work previously.. This is why I figured you would recommend SGP as an option for the build. I have nothing against SGP or any other vendor on the list..

B) If you are going to draw sweeping generalizations, at least get the full story first. You think I'm stupid enough to recommend somebody for machine work just because they DYNO'd my car?? You are more of an idiot than I thought (which is hard to top).

G: I’m hurt.. I do appreciate what you have done for the Z32 community and appreciate what everyone does for the community in sharing accurate useful knowledge.

SGP built my NA engine long before you were around and it worked out well. And actually, SGP would not have even crossed my mind as he asked for places in DALLAS.
While I may not be the perfect person to ask for advice, at least I would be HONEST with him. As I recall you were the guy who just told somebody that it was OK to fix a stripped hole by just jamming a bigger bolt in there. Yeah, I'd really trust you to tell me where to get my engine built. I wouldn't trust you to tell me how to make a piece of toast.

G: Ask someone that actually works on Zs if they have done this procedure, this is off topic so I won’t go into details on that subject.

You wrote:
Everybody told you BEFORE you bought that SR-71 that it was a piece of shit and you shouldn't buy it. Yet you still bought it. Does it run right yet? No? But it's everybody else's fault, right?

G: Again, another subject however, I make my own choices are very happy with them. I haven’t looked back and If I used my car for show only, I would never have an issue. Who is everyone BTW?

Personally, I would recommend purchasing the long block from Courtesy for 3500.00 and be done with it.

That's funny. You know when I needed my first engine, that's exactly what I did, and probably a suggestion I would make, although I bought mine from Coz. But you can go ahead and 'LMAO' at what you THINK my responses would be since you're such a self-proclaimed Z god.

G: This was my honest opinion knowing the risk, cost and time involved in getting a Z32 long block up to par. I wasn’t intending to offend you or take your factory short block into consideration? Your block blew due to a fuel pressure issue, or was it timing?

Why don't you take a poll on ttzdlist OR ttnet and ask if somebody wanted an opinion, who they would trust more... you or me? I'm pretty confident what the results would be.

G: I am not in competition with you to determine who gives the best advice or has the most well respected opinion on the tt.net. I do provide support to the fellow Z’rs the best way I know how while I am sitting on the inet. I also speak on this forum as if we were working in a garage together. I don’t take sides, I don’t fluf the owner of the garage or the person with the nicest car. I also wouldn’t call someone and idiot on the inet unless I would call them an idiot in person..

Just my .02.

Gary
