Message Took a few minutes today to testfit the engine into the bay with the new turbo placement. The turbos dont sit in the stock location as there is very little room to collect all the pipes together just before the turbine housing inlet. The new placement has dropped the turbos about 1/2" and moved them out a little only to gain more open room for the turbine inlet flange. I have ordered all new 321 stainless mandrel bent tubes for completing the manifolds. The pipe routing will be more of a hybrid between a log style and equal length - neither truly one or the other. I am avoiding a log style design because of the increased chance of failure with stainless steel, but also avoiding the decreased turbo response generated with equal length headers (long pipes lose a lot of energy). Hopefully they will last. If they dont, I told Greg to go ahead and set aside a pair of inconel manis for me. :)

This new turbo location will mean I will have to build my own custom downpipes.

Turbos used are my Stage2 design:
T3 62-trim compressor wheel (same as disco potato)
.60 A/R compressor housing
GT25 76-trim, 10-blade turbine wheel
.63 A/R turbine housing (stock 5speed housing)
360-degree thrust group

Here are a few pics >>

Now that I know everything fits, I'm just waiting on the pipes to arrive so I can start fabbing away.

I plan to produce all of the pipe sections myself and I have made arrangements with a local shop to use their TIG welder for final assembly of the manifolds.
