The Nissan skyline is one of the only cars that is allowed to be imported to america as a whole car. Once the car gets here, it is required to undergo a conversion process so that everything becomes street legal here...ie glass, lights and such. The previous posts are probably right, but you dont have to weld two halves of a car together to get it. Buy a Z here in the states with a blown motor preferably, and buy a front clip....ie the shifter forward, in which you get everything you would need to do the conversion, and just swap all of the parts onto the Z you have purchased here in the states. Then all you would have to do is to get the small stuff like the jspec tails and it would pretty much be a full RHD Jspec 300ZX. This is a much cheaper way to go then having a car imported for you, then having a conversion company make everything DOT legal. Of course, if you've got 50-100K to spend on a Z, then go for it.
