| As some of the Florida crew may know my best friend Mike who is also our chief photographer (The rough job of shooting the bikini calendar among other things) has been driving an inherited 1985 Chevy Astro van. Now, while the van is an immaculate low mileage time capsule courtesy of his grandfather it leaves something to be desired in terms of driving fulfillment...oh the carbureted goodness. (-< Just ask HaloZ) So, while the shagin wagon has served us all well throughout our undergrad years and beyond all good things must come to an end and with our BA's now behind us Mike decided it was finally time for a car... In the past Mike has been a stead fast member of the cult of domestecity, having owned 2 mustangs, a Transam and firebird all of which in true domestic fashion came to an early sale or demise. So, naturally Mike's first inclination was to stick with what he knew and buy something along the lines of a mustang, but with a little coaxing and some wheel time in my Z we quickly had him steering in the direction of a Z32. Now, the only problem was finding one that was well maintained and within his cash budget. As luck may have it my good friend Ric aka the notorious forum whore HaloZ was selling his silver 90'... So, this past weekend Mike, my self and my girl friend Laura piled in the old van and headed up to the great white north of Macon/Warner Robins to purchase Mike's new Z. As luck may have it the weekend we picked placed us there during "The Georgia Ice Storm", a winter tempest that coated georgia in a nice layer of ice. So, while the natives were bitcing and moaning we Floridians were outside ooohing and awwwing over icicles and basking in the novelty of sub freezing weather. Luckily, by Sunday the temp was on the rise and the ice gone so we could safely drive Mike's new Z home to Tampa. So, now DS has a 7th Z32 owner in its ranks. Joining myself, Paul, Pat, Chris, Vik and Harry is Michael Coates whom you will shortly be seeing on TTNet, after he finishes ready through the faqs and observing a bit. I have reduced all the pics from 6mp to 1280x1024 to be more web friendly. The Halo S13/SR swap covered in ice, parked next to the shagin wagon
Who wears shorts in 27 degree weather? Ric. You can also see my gf laura in the background sporting the lovely blanket. Oh, the DR seen here would be the Halo mobile.
A closer look at the S-13 and van covered in ice. What a novelty.
Wonder which way the wind was blowing...
