and run at least 8 gauge wire. thats just been my experience because I've had shitty sealed boxes that I made that sucked and then I sealed them properly and they sounded ALOT better. I also upgraded the power and ground wires and notice a big difference as well. Also take note to how you are wiring the subs to the amp as everyone else is suggesting. I have never heard a 8" sub before, but I imagine other than a jl w7 or equivalent, it definately should not hit as hard as your set up when yours is good and ready good luck
