At the very least, Unluky's post was idiotic, if he's not himself. You should ALWAYS be cautious of changing out OEM components. Considerable thought needs to be given to exactly why Nissan did certain things. The Z is renowned for its excellent engineering- they pretty much nailed it. So I pretty much guarantee you that if a feature on the Z seems to be less than optimal, it wasn't b/c Nissan engineers were retards or they just didn't care. There are sound reasons for everything- usually the reasons are one of the following: cost-savings, safety/emissions regulations, noise/vibration/harshness, reliability/fatigue life/structural integrity, drivability, and packaging constraints. So going and replacing that you can with carbon fiber, for instance, can be very detrimental, depending on where its used. And most people who casually mod cars don't really know all of the aspects needed to decide where it would be useful and where it wouldn't. The ability to decide that takes a lot of engineering knowledge. The casual modder (probably 98% of the people on this site, myself included) usually only knows enough about engineering to be dangerous.
