"No offense to Specialty Z, but Random Tech here in Atlanta was making them for the Z's years ago. I talked to RVM yesterday and they said that some supplier of 300ZX DP'S called them and ordered a bunch of pairs because they could buy them from RVM cheaper than they could have them made? The natural process of competition causes prices to drop. The prices on DP's have been astronomical in my opinion due to a seeming monopoly on them. We have our own design that will be here soon also, they have more differeces from the Specialty Z than the RVM DP's.
It is competition that often hurts vendors like ourselves (Z1) and Specialty Z. But it keeps us on our toes because we all have to strive to develop new and better products to stay ahead of the game. Specialty Z made a lot of money off of downpipes, and good for them, but I think the market has caught up. The challenge in making a good selling product is finding a way to make a quality product more affordable than anyone else can produce it.
What I don't understand is why some of you customers out there make such fuss about it for. If the product is redesigned in the interest of trying to improve upon its use and/or value it is a win/win situation for the customers. This is how products get better and cheaper. How much were VCR's or DVD players for that matter when they came out? Some other company made a better one and made it more affordable, and it happened again and again. until they were $50.

russell made you guy look like foolish. :( As so remember GregD has redesiged his DP (3 gen.) and has show (dyno tested) very good results over his older gen Dps. Please use the SEARCH feature if you don't believe me and post the results. :-)
