So the word of the break in was passed along. This morning my neighbor came outside to go to work about 6:30 am and some dude was in his driveway/backyard. Neighbor was like WTF? Dude says he's just hopped a fence passing through and starts to leave. Then my neighbor realizes that his tools have been emptied out of his work truck, laying on the ground. Bad guy has bolted. Neighbor (who's pretty diesel) chases him down and catches him at the end of the block. Neighbor's wife rings my doorbell and my other neighbor, who is a cop, so we run to help. (Of course I was in a towel just out of the shower so it took me a minute to get some clothes on). Bad guy is struggling with neighbor1 so we issue a little street justice. Not much considering the beating he deserved. Several police cars show up and the guy gets locked up. Yay. Basically, he was a homeless crackhead (no lie; crack pipes in his pocket) who steals shit to feed his crack habit, and has gotten pretty good at stealing shit over time. He found a quiet neighborhood he thought he could take advantage of, and kept coming back until he got caught. He didn't admit to taking my stereo but I know it was him. Unfortunately, the guy doesn't have 2 nickels to rub together so I will never see any compensation, but it is nice to know the fVcker got what he deserved.
