Message	In VA you have to have insurance... otherwise you have to pay $500 a year for the uninsured motorist fee... and you can be fined if you don't have insurance AND haven't paid the fee (its on record whether you have or not). Not all states are that way. But in VA to take insurance off your car, you have to turn the tags in to DMV and provide proof to the insurance company (i.e. a receipt of the transaction) that you turned them in to remove liability insurance from the car.
