Go to Autozone, and buy the flat black that is the really hightemperature paint. I believe it's over 1000 F if I remember correctly, anyways, sand down the cover real well, and clean it nice and smooth, lay a thin layer of primer down(hightemp), and wait til that drys, and smooth it down a little with some sand paper, then spray on a couple thin layers of the flat black about every 10 minutes, until it is solid, then do another layer..be sure to get it all. About 30-40 minutes later, when it is just barley tacky, or even maybe totally dry, apply the decals from tt.net. After doing that, use "polyurethane clear coat by MINWAX"..found at any Home Depot, and lay down a couple thick layers of clear coat. It won't look totally smooth after applying the clear coat, but this clear does an amazingly great job of self leveling itself out pretty quickly after a couple minutes, and the shine from this clear if very VERY nice for a rattle can. After doing that, put the TB cover somewhere where their is no dust and stuff, and let it sit all day (24+ hours). After this, go out and look at the cover...you will love the results. If you have any questions on painting plastic engine parts definatly contact me man, and I'll gladly help you out with anything. Good luck, and have fun!Below are some engine parts that I painted with this combo. I did not take this picture to show off the painted parts in particular, but even though this is a crappy picture, you can still slightly see the shine on the TB cover, the shroud, the timing belt covers, the resivour, and a couple other pieces. Definatley give the MINWAX clear coat a try man..it's good stuff and very durable, and again, if you have some questions, e-mail me, and hopefully I will have some answers :)
Thanks, Mike 1991 Black Twin Turbo (Show and Go)
