Message	i am talking like maybe 10 lbs. fwiw a flat piece of 16 gauge steel that takes up the same footprint as the hole you would cut out weighs the same if not more than the entire spare tire well that is cut out. Even if you put an aluminum piece in there, you would only save maybe 5 lbs and you couldnt weld the aluminum to the steel (there are ways to solder/braze steel to aluminum but I wouldnt advise it for this application). So you would be most likely riveting the aluminum piece in place. imho i wouldnt bother unless the wheel well is physically in your way . AIM: TDMGR33N
