| Disclaimer, I know this is stupid simple, but some folks may find it useful. So, I've got this monster compressor from sears. They are a great value, but the drains are pieces of crap. They don't lend themselves well to regular draingings and eventually get gummed up and near impossble to work anymore. a year or two ago, i bought at "automatic compressor drain" from Harbor Frieght for $3.99 on sale.
well, it turns out, this is CRAP too. After 5 or 10 uses, the drain seal gets sacrificed and it no longer holds pressure over night. So, I took the good part of the auto drain, and kept it basic.... Here's the original drain valve... pure crap.
here's what the "automatic drain valve" looks like installed (crap)... it works, but in the long run its crap.
So i just removed the good hand release screw valve and installed it. guess what... it works great.
