Message Completely different dynamics than standard clutch material, in fact it works opposite of a standard type clutch. When you heat standard clutch material you compromise it's friction ability as it gets hotter, and can actually ruin one by glazing it. The carbon material holds the hotter it gets. Therefore when engaged when it is not hot, or only partially engaged it will slip some and put enough of a load on the car to start making boost at the line (obviously the parking brake has to be pulled or the car would start rolling). When it's time to go, you let the clutch completely out, and drop the hammer and with the heat that has been introduced to the clutch material, it grabs like crazy. It also takes an act of God to wear out the carbon material. I hope I'm not giving out shop secrets, but the carbon material is the material used to stop the Bullett train in France (I think they drag race it too!). Hope that makes sense, Mark
