When i first did the clutch on my z, at the time it had the factory exhaust which was rusted and in poor condition. I didn't really have the cash at the time to replace it, so I had to take it off in one piece to help minmize any damange. With the front on ramps and rear on jack stands, its difficult to manuver the whole thing out with the jack stands in place. It fits but it took some extra care to remove it without busting it up. Therefore, in that particular situation, it would have been easier with the wood blocks.
