BIG thanks to genic for hosting the pics. I don't care about what everyone says about you, you're OK in my book. =)

*RANT/ON*

Overall, the event was a raging success. There were more performance oriented cars at the infield parking lot than ricers, by about a 4 to 1 margin. I got more swag from the vendors than I know what to do with.

The JGTC cars were absolutely amazing. I wish I had video of the race. Pictures do not do these cars justice. Although I got the feeling this was an exposition event more than anything, the drivers of the JGTC cars seemed to be giving 100%.

The biggest surprise: drifting. I've always clowned on drifting, much like some of you insist on making fun of drag racing. The Japanese drivers in the drift cars (especially the guys with the AE86s) gave 100% in the events, and the D1GP was very entertaining. I think the US drivers have about 2-3 years more to catch up before we can be competitive in this arena.

Bottom line: JGTC appears to be here to stay. Hopefully, this event was enough of a success to warrant future races.

Seedy, you better post video!
