Message The day started with red flashing lights. 85 is a 65 in what the nice CHP officer said as he drooled over my freshly waxed and newly scratched Z. He couldn't believe it was a 90 but he sure did believe he caught me doing 85mph at 5:30am on an empty freeway. I could have sworn the needle never went up to 80mph and even then, my speedo is off by +~8mph. Oh well, the guy was nice and even hinted that he wouldn't show up to court...or perhaps I was reading him wrong. Guess I'll find out in a month. Anyway, I was off like a prom dress to the track and the ticket was off my mind even quicker. There was racing to see and models to gawk at.

The Z clubs dominated the 500+ cars in the club lot. Everything from 240s to 350z outnumbered everything else. It was early, the lighting sucked and no one had even set up yet but it was all uphill from here.

Each club car had to go through a full inspection. Mirrors underneath, all glove boxes/trunks opened as well as all bags. No messing around.

A few of us began walking around to check out the sights as morning turned to afternoon. Here's a nice force-fed bimmer.

Damn. I'm sure he can afford to replace them if they crack...

Obligatory "here's the deepest dish I could find" pic. No 50s here just a wrinkly single because I'm broke (yay for Christmas)

Yes please

That GT Live pass is the size of a credit card.

The Go-kart event in the parking lot. Quicker than the indoor carts and much longer straights. Bargain pricing too.

The track

I think he might be here for the drifting...

Just a few of the 40 of so Infinitis

Some day...even if for just ONE day

Rob brought over one of the handful of M45s in the country. These US market ones are going to be damn impressive power and feature-wise

How do you get the purchase order signed for a $50,000 tire/barricade mover?

Okay, who wants to name it ;)

Check that velvet rope. It's almost like walking into a closed patio door.

More in the next post from before the races...
