Message With a dohc layout you'll have more cam weight, and more cam bearing surface.

I'd guess with a dohc you have less load per bearing, so the bearing surfaces can be lower. Is that true?

More friction with more bearings?


The valve timing issue I can agree with, along with the advantage of being able to advance/retard the intake and exhuast valve timing independantly of one another.
