Message I have a friend (this is in Japan) who dyno'd over 600rwhp with his Z32. He has an internally bone stock engine, twin TD06 19C's, FMIC, 850cc inj's, and electronics to control it. He isn't fully spooled until 6000 rpm and his redline is 8000 rpm. Besides his poor gas milage, his car is very drivable. IMHO both these car's engines are big enough that even with big turbo lag they can be easily driven in a city. I do recommend a stick though :)
Unfortunately if you want big hp like that (w/o NOS) you are going to have to deal with some lag. No big deal.

: Because I've been thinking about picking up a Supra as a 2nd car, despite the looks - 600+whp on stock internals just sounds very tempting. Anyway I came across a boost chart in the 03/01 Turbo magazine comparing boost charataristics of 2 UPRD built 97 Supras, one with a Greddy T88 and the other with HKS2835's. The Twin setup has a *tiny* edge down low but really they are almost identical:
: 2500rpm 1.5psi, 3500rpm 3.5psi, 4500rpm 9psi, 5500rpm 17.5psi - they limited boost to 18 psi in the test. I was totally bummed that these 2 cars would be almost undrivable without nos on the street, absolutely nothing like what I expected, especially for the HKS twin setup. I have emailed several Supra guys about it, including (ahem) several from TTnet and so far have received ZERO response. I am hoping someone can tell me it's possible to do better but so far no one has come forward. Starting to lose interest in the Supra.
