So my inspection expired a week ago while i was at work. I went to the garage where usually get it done, but it was a bit late. So i asked the gentleman where there was another machine (i wanted to get it out of the way so i could use the car tonight) he says pepboys has one. Against my better judgement i enter and ask to get an inspection done. I knew things were bad when i saw a "certified automotive technician" who obviously know $h*t about the z begin to remove my tires and check my oil. He tugs on my wipers and inspects to assure my rear view mirror is on there securely. After the nice "certified technician" assures that my mirrors wipers and horn are up to standard, he further goes on to "inspect" my suspension. According to the dumb motherf%#$@r my zx is unsafe. This is because based on his opinion and judgement my tie rods, knucklepins, and lugnuts should be replaced. The car passes the emission with flying colors, but yeah, since they couldnt get me to buy tie rods, knucklepins, and lugnuts he refused to pass my z. F'er. It is just amazing how these people abuse the public. While i was there at least 3-4 people came in for something minor, and walked away with ridiculous quotes. One gentleman walked in to have an oil change, to find out he needed new tires as well. Another lady came in for one thing and ended up paying way more than she though for bogus "inspections and tests". How can these people stay in business.
