I can tell you that none of know exactly what the other guy is doing when it comes to auto transmissions...... I can tell you that we spent 2 years of extensive research and development on the Z32 auto trans in my 280Z to get it to hold up to a 10 second pass. The valve bodies are extremely sensitive and knowing exactly what it takes to modify them correctly takes a crazy amount of trial and error. We also make a number of custom parts for our auto transmission. We have special valves made to control line pressure differently. We make custom servos. We have special friction material made. We add more clutch plates for 3rd gear and modify the stock drum. We use a wider second gear band. We modify the front pump. ECT, Ect, Ect.........Holding 500 HP is easy. Holding 750 or more HP is very difficult. I had my complete trans in and out a minimum of 15 times during the trial and error process, And the valve body was out at least 40 times. I almost gave up on the Z auto trans a couple times, But I am glad I stayed the course. We have many of our transmissions being used with great results in customers cars in the 400 to 600 RWHP level. My 280Z has well over 200 10 second passes on the final transmission package without problems at the 650 to 700 RWHP level. My 300TT has at least 100 passes on it so far in the 650 RWHP level. Kyle at SGP has many high horse power cars with their auto trans as well and I think they probably have the trans figured out as well. Hope that helps :)
