Message that will not benefit from lower gearing......
The reason I say this is because the benefit from reducing the turbo lag by multiplying torque and bringing the gears closer together will out weigh the loss of possibly being out of the power band with stock turbos and stock cams.
The other side is the cars with big turbos and cams and in that case the power band is higher and you win all the way to a car that goes as fast as 150 MPH in the 1/4 if your willing to spin it to 8000 RPM.
If you have a car that goes faster then 150 in the 1/4 mile then I believe it is time to retire it from the street :P
If you have larger turbos you will want to spin the engine faster to keep the RPM band wide enough.
The one that was interesting is the one in the middle.....
Having a car with bigger turbos and N20 fast enough to be out of the power band for a engine with stock cams......
Turns out the gears still work better.
In my case I am where my power band has fallen off, But it still works better.
With adding Cams to my set up it should net some interesting gains.....
Guess what is next?
