As an owner of both, each has their strong and weak points. Hands down, the 300ZX is the more comfortable GT-like car that can be made pretty quick. Timeless looks. The RX7 is also a great looking car, but more hard-core in ride. Interior is more "basic", and drives like a go-cart. Night and day in the handling department...you can feel the weight of the 300ZX in comparison. I can honestly say that the RX7 does indeed cost more in basic maintenance than the 300ZX. Spark plugs, O2 sensors, minor this-and-thats....the 300ZX is really awesome in this regard, and will be much cheaper to maintain. The RX7 is all about upkeep; start letting things go and it will cost you. Anyhow, I enjoy both of them very much. My .02, Eggman.
