Especially when I would put on new ernie ball strings. But we, as bass players, do take a beating. It is a very physical instrument that takes a lot of conditioning to play. My forearms still stiffen up from time to time. I've worn holes in my thumb slapping, blisters on my fingers and so on. In fact, I learned that plastic band-aids do quite well when needing to slide and are a fine substitute to the skin we might be missing.Have a good one and keep on playin.
