Message Two thumbs way up for Z1motorsports.

Wow, what an amazing machine. The twin turbo is definitly a different breed of fun. I used to have NO fun in a straight line... now I can't get enough. Im betting the twisties are going to be great too, but I want to wait til I get used to the power difference, powerband before I attempt any twisties.

I brought my car down to Z1motorsports in need of a new engine. The compression on my NA engine was toast. 100psi on cylinder #1, 140psi on another, and a few good cylinders. It caused a hesitant, stuttering idle. It was a 90 (meaing soft valves) with 133K on it. Not bad if you ask me, especially since the previous owner did not take care of it.

Drop off date was October 5th. I told them it needed to be done before thanksgiving (3 weeks)... and Z1motorsports had it done in a little over 2 weeks, INCLUDING all the road and drive time and dyno tuning setting the boost gauge up.

Everything is great in the car. No issues. They did a very professional job on the swap and all transactions. Im not sure why people have had problems dealing with them, but EVERYTHING that I have had done by them, or bought through them was pure professional business. Anyways, here is a break down on what I had done, straight from my bill:

Still running stock internals/turbos/intercoolers/injectors

Yes, its alot of money, and if it was done myself, it would have been ALOT cheaper. But since this car is my DD, it wasnt something I could take my sweet time on, and it was something that needed to be done IMMEDIATELY. Not only that, but I paid for peace of mind, having the professionals do it. Though, don't get me wrong, I would have LOVED to do it myself and learn alot, it just wasnt feasible for me at this time. Hopefully later down the road it will be.

In the mean time, I get to enjoy my 52K Twin Turbo, with lots of power to boat, and I must say the NA dif is AMAZING on my TT. Z1 has been updating their site, and is busy getting that and all their computers working, so a dyno sheet has not been provided quite yet. When they do, I will be sure to post it.

So now that I have tortured you through all that, here is the pictures of the "new" car... yes, its gone to the dark side. Moohahahaha:

*NOTE: Sorry, some of the pictures were too dark. I was messing around with the manual options on my Cannon digi cam, don't know the model.

For those that missed the engine work pictures here they are:

And the pictures of my car after a quick cleaning (its sooo cold):

And the JDM VG30DETT 52K Engine! Yes, the whole engine bay needs cleaning, but thats my winter project since money is going to be much more scarce after all of the work just done. Taking donations, HAHA! No really, im not kidding:

And all thanks too...

Well, thats it, any questions? And ill be sure to post the dyno results once I get them.

Later,
DougZXTT
