I'm not exactly sure how the ECU is measuring things to be able to say for certain. For instance, the CAS has the resolution to tell the ECU its exact position at any given moment, but we don't know how often the ECU polls the sensors. It doesn't really need to poll it at every 1 degree increment in order to function, as long at the CAS is able to tell the ECU its position when it needs it. Also, regardless of how fast it can read the data coming from the sensors, it still has to wait for the next cylinder to fire to enact a change to ignition or fuel. In our case, since all 6 cylinders will fire in 2 revolutions, it has 120 degrees between firings, and that would give the ECU plenty of time to react even if it can't process all the data in the time the crank rotates 1 degree.
