Message I can't tell you how awesome it is to be able to change the traction control on the fly. Here's a good story for you...
I was driving along on the highway when I see a nice low black car coming up FAST. Lo and behold, it's a new Corvette. The second he comes up alongside me, he slows down and matches my speed. I look over and know he wants to go, but it had just started drizzling a bit of rain. I simply open up my ashtray, dial in a little more traction control (went from 10% wheelspin to 5%), and proceed to utterly toast that guy. If I didn't have the traction control, there is no way in hell I would have even attempted to race on a slightly damp road.

The adjustable feature is also good if you want to do some nice powerslides... simply dial in a bit less traction and you're good to go. :-)
