| But let's be honest with eachother, what exactly do you as the armchair mechanic know for sure about the two chips? You only make the statement based on your own experience that your car hasn't blown up and perhaps the experiences of a few others. This is not an attack at you or anything, it's just a reality. Am I wrong? Too many people base their definition of "safe" on only their own experience. "If it doesn't explode, it's fine". My line of reasoning is a bit different than that. I think: Which chip has been around a long time and has proven itself thousands of times? Which chip has a company standing behind it so that if something terrible goes wrong, they can back it up without ANY doubt? Which chip has a support line where you can actually get a hold of someone and discuss concerns, customizations or problems? Which chip has powered some of the quickest Zs on the face of the planet without a single documented failure attributed to it? This is what I base *MY* opinion of "being safer" on. If people want to save money, they wont do it the way I do, that's for sure. I want my car to last as long as possible so while these facts above might be "minor" to some of you, every little bit counts to me. At the end of the day, peace of mind is everything.
