Generally, newer cars (350Z for example) will have higher insurance costs than the 300ZX. However, I can't confirm that. Plus, average depreciation for a new vehicle is nearly 50% within 3 yrs.. That should be factored toward the TRUE cost of owning a 350Z versus a 300ZX. My maintenance/repair costs for 3 yrs and 20K miles of a N/A convertible is about $6000, most of which is new interior/top/upgraded suspension and brakes/tires. Just spent $1250 on 120K maintenance since the water pump had a leak.
